healthier food for a healthier community

The SOS Community Kitchen is not your ordinary community kitchen. Meals prepared at the Kitchen utilize 90% fresh fruits and vegetables, prioritize whole wheat and 100% grains, and limit the consumption of high-sodium, high-salt snacks that are the norm for many children. By providing healthy lunches and after-school snacks at numerous sites, it relieves the burden for low-income parents who do not always have the money to provide their kids with enough food to last throughout the day. SOS helps save low-income families an average of $74.00 per month per child per meals served.
